Who I am

My wife and I have proudly called Hemet our home since 1993. We have raised 9 children, 5 of whom have graduated from Hemet High School.

MY BACKGROUND

Coming from the business world as an accountant and being a family man with a sincere interest in public education, if elected, I bring a unique set of skills to the Hemet school board for at least a couple of reasons.

First, my experience as an accountant allows me to contribute to the financial planning for our school district. Doing so should be a significant part of our school district and is essential for the long-term fiscal health of our district.

Secondly, being a firm proponent of local control and parental engagement in all aspects of their child's education, it has been disheartening to witness politicians in Sacramento undermine the power of of local school boards with bills such as AB1078 passed in 2023. And, most recently, the attack on parental rights as AB1955 was passed just weeks ago by California lawmakers. This egregious bill sacrifices biological facts for politics by mandating that if a child transitions to the opposite sex at school, teachers must hide this from the child's parents.

PRIORITIES FOR EDUCATION

My vision for our schools extends beyond conventional norms. Working with my fellow board members, I aim to encourage an environment in the classroom and on campus where every student has the opportunity to thrive. It is vital that our educational institutions prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow. By fostering a trusting and cooperative partnership between teachers and parents, we help our students excel and prepare them for the future.

Mission Going Forard

MISSION FOR THE FUTURE
BY NOT FORGETTING THE BASICS TODAY

Empowering Every Student
By Focusing On Four Areas

  1. Reading Skills

  2. Safe Classrooms

  3. Safe Campus

  4. Parental Rights

Reading Skills are Foundational for Learning

Reading Skills are the foundation upon which the entire learning process is built. Success in every school classroom, regardless of the subject, is dependent on the ability to read.

Safe and Orderly Classrooms are Essential for Learning

A safe and orderly classroom is essential for learning to take place. Teachers must be allowed to be in control of their classroom.

Safe Campuses are Essential for Learning

What happens on the campus, for good or bad, is part of a student's day. A student should not have to worry about his or her safety on any part of a school campus.

Parental Involvement is  Essential for Learning

Parents being involved in their child's education has always been shown to be an essential part of student success. Yet today, legislation is being passed mandating teachers hide information from parents about what is going on with their child at school. It is a parent's right and responsibility to be involved in every aspect of their child's education. The parent teacher relationship is a partnership based on mutual trust and respect. Communicating together as a team, parents and teachers guide the students through each grade level. Any effort to disrupt this relationship will prove to be detrimental to the child's education.
